Bowers & Wilkins Announces Compact Addition to Custom Theatre 800 Series
A no-compromise high-end surround speaker for when space is at a premium.
The CT8.4 LCRS adds a new dimension to Bowers & Wilkins top-of-the-range Custom Theatre 800 Series, by providing customers with the option of a more compact rear speaker. The new addition utilizes technology derived from B&W’s legendary 800 Series, including a NatulusTM tube-loaded tweeter, a woven Kevlar® midrange driver and a carbon fibre/Rohacell® bass unit.
Customers buying Bowers & Wilkins Custom Theatre 800 Series aren’t the kind of people who accept compromise: they want a discreet home theatre system that is packed with the same technology that features in B&W’s 800 Series of stand-alone speaker and the extremely high levels of performance that comes with that.
But sometimes, a little bit of give and take is needed; not in terms of performance, which remains paramount, but in terms of the space that’s available for an installation. That’s where the new CT8.4 LCRS come into play.
It offers an appealing alternative to the CT8 DS side/rear channel speaker when only a more compact model will do. It manages this difficult feat because while it is smaller than the CT8 DS, it still offers the same intensely satisfying listening experience as its bigger brother.
But there’s more to the CT8.4 LCRS than a simple space-saving surround alternative. As its name suggests it can also act as a Left, Center, or Right channel speaker, therefore allowing you to construct a complete Custom Theatre 800 Series system using just this one model.
However it is utilized, this amazing new offering adds considerably to the already excellent range of speakers available from B&W’s high-end dedicated Custom Installation range.
